I read 1984 in high school and 1984 isn't the only book like that.

Banning books was one of the first things the Nazis did to control their population. The parents in your district should have the option to not have their child(ren) read the book if they find it offensive,but it should not be removed from shelves. As a side note, unless the child in question lives in a cave and does not have access to peers or social media they're exposed to vast amounts of "questionable" images every minute of every day in our society. GIVE ME A BREAK.

By removing books from the curriculum is the beginning of the dumbing down of our children! Parents should be the only guardians who decide what their child can and cannot read. I DO NOT SUPPORT BANNING ANY BOOKS!

We see Communist banning books because they cause people to think, we see Nazis burning books because it didn't fit their idea of how people should learn. Who do you think you are? In a free society you are telling students in school they are not allowed to read certain works? This book is making you nervous because it tells what a dictatorship dies to a society!!!!! My senior year was amazing, and one of the most memorable parts was my fifth hour Government class. 1984 provides a lot of insight on the industrial era in Chicago and I can't understand why Rigby High School would rid of the most inviting but educational projects in the best school I've ever attended.

Don't tell kids anything is a waste of time! For that reason alone and the way it was handled and hushed infuriates me! I stand with those that are requiring freedom of choice. Do not EVER tell ANYONE they cant do something. How absolutely discouraging especially from those who are suppose to have our children and communities best interest in mind, always!!
