**UPDATED** Petition Against the Wrongful Firing of Dr. Eric Johnson

PsyD Wheaton College. Very appreciative of Johnsons contributions to Christian counseling and worldview.

If this is the whole truth then I am deeply disturbed. Johnson is a good man and a great prof.

This firing is egregious and should be rescinded immediately!

BSW from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and pursuing my MSW at The Ohio State University. The integration of counseling and theology should be encouraged, not mocked.

Science is not incompatible with faith. Anyone who tells you differently has an agenda to promote, and likely something to sell you.

I know Dr Johnson well enough to affirm that His regard for scripture as authoritative, relevant and sufficient for a Biblical approach to counseling is beyond reproach.

Eric Johnson is a giant voice in the arena of Christians concerned with the care of souls. Stunning and disappointing decision by SBTS.

It's such a shame that SBTS seems to be failing to consider that limiting integrational approaches to Christian counseling will limit the ability of their counseling graduates to be salt and light in very dark places. I'm not sure that this is truly the reason Dr. Johnson was dismissed from his position but I hope Dr. Mohler will prayerfully consider that a lost world needs Christian counselors to work within the school system, the mental health field, and in child welfare. We can't do that unless we can study in programs that prepare us for state licensure!

Why on earth is Mohler taking firing recommendations from Lambert. Now that Lambert admits he was wrong, will Mohler admit he was wrong, publicly?

This firing is ridiclous! What is SBC running...a free for all, when it comes to input, or are they really running their own show?

That tent sure is getting tiny and might even have more room to shrink; just keep kicking good decent people over garbage like this. There is nothing of Jesus in this mess, only the kind of extreme legalism that Jesus died to save us from.

It is sad when a fellow believer makes it their mission to ruin another person simply because they disagree. Sorry sir, but God will judge you more for you hold a role of leadership.

I'm an alum. If this is true, it is tragic. Dr Johnson is a faithful believer and amazing scholar.

I was sad to hear this news. We have been taught conviction on core christian values and tolerance on non-core values. Keith Lambert has made this a core issue. Therefore limiting means that God can use to reach those needing healing.
