Steve was one of the main reasons why I choose to apply for the RCA's sculpture department. He is an excellent member of stuff, who provide help to students on a far wider territory than he's assigned role is- and he does it with great enhusiasm and attention. With moving him from the department, we're not only loosing an outstanding stuff member, but his place is left empty before several important exhibitions where noone else is capable of giving the students such a support. Please reconsider your choice.

As I understand it Steve Bunn is being transferred to Kensington in order to solve a so-called staffing crisis there despite the fact that this decision will cause a staffing crisis in Battersea and will inevitably adversely affect both the first years' WIP show and the second years' degree show. I am very aware at this moment that companies like BMW and Loro Piana show interest in design students before they have even finished their degrees. A friend of mine made posters last year that said "Get your fucking swoosh out of my art school." Maybe we should put some of those up.

This is truly shocking. Steve has the broadest range of experience with different sculpture materials across the whole department and is very often the ONLY person with that experience. As well as traditional materials he also pushes new working methods including sharing his knowledge of Rhino and 3-d printing. It will be a sad day for sculpture if this is allowed to happen.
sculpture students really could do with some stability - seems that fine art department is being stripped of staff systematically over the last year.

In the short time I've been at the RCA, Steve has proved himself invaluable not only for his technical knowledge but his dedication and genuine interest. We NEED Steve at Sculpture as his knowledge is absolutely vital to us.

Steve has a significant institutional knowledge, advanced technical skills and a helpful and approachable manner I have found him to be a significant asset to the program. Frankly I am unclear why it is felt that we don't need him.

The loss of Steve Bunn's extensive knowledge of technical and digital process would harm not just Sculpture, but the whole of Fine Art. We already have too few technicians in workshops overflowing thanks to the increase in student numbers.
What? I can't believe this was just decided and not discussed with students. I'm sure the South Ken campus needs more staff but we certainly can't afford to loose Steve Bunn!
