The decision by the Southern League Board to refuse this request shows such a sad lack of compassion and humanity. Whilst rules are rules, I hope that those in charge find it in their hearts to see sense, and grant this simple request. Good luck, I hope this petition succeeds.

Please show respect and compassion and reverse this decision. I agree with the general thrust of the rule but surely you see that in this instance forcing the club to use the shirt would be cruel, crass and pointless.

Totally disgusting actions by the Southern League. All clubs from Premiership down can decide to retire a specific number for a specific reason, who are you to deny them? Maybe it is time for your committee members to retire, and get some people with true compassion and understanding to run the league.

The FA and their leagues demand respect from the clubs and their players. It's about time the Administrators demonstrated some respect themselves.
