This is the time for the league to waive this rule and demonstrate compassion in this case.

Here's hoping the Southern League can be persuaded to show a little compassion.

Hope dignity and respect for a former player prevails above the insensitive bad judgement of a rule book administrator.

Maybe for once 'officialdom' could avoid being coupled with 'petty'. Have a heart.

Democracy gone mad. Clubs of all sizes across the footballing world have done this gesture without any ramifications, so I don't know why Rushden can't do the same.

This is the sort of thing you could not make up. It shows a total lack of respect for both the memory of Dale Roberts and the fans of the club

I thought the FA promoted respect in the game?
This club is trying to pay their respects not just to the player but also his family.
This is a terrible decision that must be put right to uphold the spirit of the game.
