A simply ludicrous rule being implemented with no foresight or common sense.

Just respect the wishes of the fans and the club. Who's it hurting?

The Southern League are showing themselves to be stubborn and unfeeling. A little touch of human compassion is all that is required here.

A matter that goes beyond the painted lines of the football pitch and trancends a mere number on a shirt. Good luck with the petition.

In the old days when a shirt number was linked to a players position on the pitch I could understand their stance, but in the modern game with squad numbers meaning that it's not uncommon to see a number 36 at left back etc, to rule that a GK must wear 1 is just ridiculous. Good luck with your appeal and I hope the league see's sense.

I fully support the request to use 17 shirt as the goalies number and to keep the no 1 as a tribute to dale.

Possibly a stupid question, but could the club register the number 1 shirt to Dale Roberts in name only ?

Where is the compassion in this decision? whoever is in charge of this decision should hang there heads in shame, remember what it is like to be human and change the decision.

Anything that makes people aware of the most unlikely person feeling suicidal is so important, Not having a No1 shirt does this and keeps Dales memory alive
