Dale was a best friend, this was such a respectful thing for thr club to honour Dale with, the FA again have disgraced them selves by not honouring the clubs wishes!!

Petty minded league officialdom at its best! Do not denigrate the memory of a treasured family loved one, player, friend, colleague and hero to the many who knew this wonderful young man. Show some common sense here please Evo Stick Southern League Board, the power is in your hands to do the right thing, forget the "rule book" for the right reasons for once,

Football is a family and we all need to support this as a mark of respect to a family that has lost a child x

Utterly nonsensical ruling, at Wycombe Wanderers we retired the number 14 shirt after Mark Philo's sudden death in a car crash and this should be no different. This is an insult to the club, but most of all to Dale Roberts and his family, who have surely suffered enough with the circumstances of his death, they do not and should not be reminded of the traumatic events of 2010 by this decision.

A number is a number but this means a lot to those who wish to honour Dale.

I play in goal for AFC R&D under 14s and I wear 86. Can't believe this decision, the league should be ashamed.

Respect in football? How about the FA and their leagues respect decisions made by clubs to honour their own players. Good luck with this, us non-league fans have to stick together.
