If the withdrawing of a certain number is good enough for big clubs / teams in various sports, it should be good enough for AFC Rushden & Diamonds. Have a heart Southern League. Is it really that hard for the wording of the league rules to be changed or an exception be made to for this club.

As a goalkeeper at AFCR&D women's team in the 2012/2013 season, I do not feel appropriate to unretire the shirt. Dale is an important part of the history of this old club. Have some respect!

The numbers worn should be irrelevant to the league. It's surely about how you play the game. Rushdens request is born out of respect something that should be encouraged as often there is little enough of it in football.
