Please allow the number one shirt to be retired for Dale. To you, it is just a number and for whatever reason, you feel the need to have a player play in the number one. If any other player can play in whatever number they like then there doesn't really need to be a number one. To you it is just a number but for the fans of this great club, it is a reminder of a player they loved who was taken away in such tragic circumstances and is a huge mark of respect to him for the person he was. Thank you.

The league represents the clubs, not vice versa. No clubs, equals no Southern League. Kettering Town/ Stoke City supporter.

I met Dale when I played at R&D's ground in a Work competition Final. He was good friends of one of my team mates also from Horden.
If the club has made the decision to retire the top in honour of Dale they should be allowed to do so, my thoughts are still with his family and good luck to Rushden for the season.
