Total lack of respect from people who obviously have no idea what this decision means to so many people.

Not asking for any kind of advantage or anything extraordinary. Just compassion.

It makes no senses not to let afcr&d retire the no1 shirt.

I get the feeling that teams in higher leagues omit a nuber in memory of a particular player. I sympathise with the situation of AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

common sense and an ounce of respect dictates that in this case an exception should be made. Sort it out FA !.
I can't see the major issue on a trivial matter such as a shirt number versus a death.

My best friend played with him at rushden & diamonds and now plays at afcrdfc should definitely be allowed to not have a 1 they haven't since his death

This is a truly ridiculous decision by the board. It is such a small thing to allow a club to not use one particular jersey number, especially when that small thing means so much to the club on a personal and emotional level. Hopefully this decision is overturned.
Local legends prevail...
Please reverse this decision!
Please let this happen it's a memorial
