This is crazy, there is absolutely no reason why this cant happen, SL need to stand back and see the bigger picture!

Having trouble in 2015 seeing the logic of the SL for refusing this request. Particularly as it seems ok to make an informal arrangement with the referee on Match Day for the 'keeper to wear a shirt other than No.1 http://behindthegoal.weebly.com/blog/its-underway-at-top-field

The FA continue to be a disgrace and let down people first and the sport as a result. Human decency and respect for others are qualities shared by most fans. Are they really missing from most of the administration?

As a mark of respect to the poor lad who died and his family the clubs request to retire his shirt number should be honnoured.

I really can't see the harm in allowing the club to retire this shirt in memory of one of their players, if that's what they want to do.
