If they insist on registering the No 1 shirt, I would suggest R&D "sign" a member of his family and therefore keep his number retired

In today's climate of squad numbers, it is a rarity to find any team fielding 1-11 and most often there isn't a number 13 shirt either. Let them honour his memory with this simple gesture.

I new Dale very well having worked at the club for many years as the Mascot, Dazzler. The No.1 shirt has been retired and should stay retired.
