Petition against the proposed parking charges to Barry Island

make it two hours free then charge to stop people hogging spaces. one hour isn't enough to have coffee/lunch which is what most of the businesses over the island are

Bin the charges or don’t be surprised at the business and domestic turmoil it will cause.

The council seem to go out of their way to make it difficult for businesses to survive, parking charges will deter people from using the island.

Why ? Make more money!!! ..making businesses have less foot fall thru their doors

I am against the proposal of parking charges for Barry island as this will stop tourists visiting the island

I go to Barry island at least once a week and meet friends or relatives , we go to the local business and spend atlest £20 a time , if we had to pay for parking we would no longer go to the island

Proposed charges are too expensive and should be free to park in off peak times

This should not even be considered!! People of Barry should not have to pay at all to park!!!

Another example of the council not listening to the people and trying to ruin business.

I remember filling out the form from the VOG asking what I thought on the proposed charges and I couldn’t have been more clear than “LEAVE BARRY ISLAND ALONE” - obviously the message wasn’t heard loud and clear. Let’s hope this does help.

Free winter parking

Do not introduce parking charges for Barry Island and surrounding areas. The council should focus on better parking facilities for residents and businesses in the area. Make use of proper parking facilities in Barry for visitors.

As a resident of Barry for 20 years I think it's disgusting to charge to park for our local facilities

Please don’t do this!!!

Charges historically tried and failed due to negative impact on local businesses. There are other ways to create money, not imposing it on the public and local companies who really care about the local areas they serve. The new parking prices will also impact massively n the residential area of which the council are refusing to take ownership. Please stop wanting it all, with no proper though and execution.

I like to pop over to the Island to walk the dog with the children during the winter months and to charge us to park is ridiculous.

As a vale of glamorgan resident I think these parking charges are ridiculous.

Council ruining it again for Barry people, visitors and businesses.
