Not against charging per se, but proposed fees excessive and could drive away visitors and create congestion elsewhere.

Need to consider the beach being regularly accessible to all without financial concerns, high costs will impact on family days. Will also affect fitness clubs - my daughter uses the beach for athletic club meets & lifeguard club. This rise could become very expensive for us with several visits a week

I used the island to exercise and take my children after school where I use the cafes and soft play facilities. If I have to pay the parking costs I will not use the island I'm going to go some where else. As o use the island in the spring autumn and winter I think it's a terrible idea to charge us to park at these time of the year.

The Island is just getting back on its feet and the VOG are going to reverse all the hard work traders and investors have done. Here an idea, stop wasting money on cycle paths and expenses, that way you wont need to charge these outragous prices for parking!

I fully support this petition and as someone who regularly uses the beach for dog walking, the gym for wellbeing and the local stores for sustenance and gifts, it would be a travesty if parking charges were introduced.
The parking can be very challenging at times especially when the weather is nice so I beg the council to desist with this madness

It seems utterly stupid to charge people to park around Barry island. I love walking my dog here, and working for a few hours in various coffee shops. I’ll go elsewhere if I have pay to park- what do we pay our council tax for??

It will have such a detrimemental effect on all locals and businesses on the Island, I can’t believe anyone thought it was a good idea

Cost increases will deter locals and visitors from visiting the Island.

I have significant concerns with regard to the impact upon residential parking on the Island and potential deterioration of footfall to the businesses who rely on trade throughout the year. I completed the consultation on the parking strategy and the responses seem to have been ignored

This short sighted and will be detrimental for the Island and Barry in general

I drive over to the island several times a week. If I have to pay every time I venture over then it will reduce my trips therefore affecting local businesses.

This will cause local people to not be able to use the local beach and businesses. Cost will be too much for a local visit.

Charging to access free space! As someone who is self employed and chose to relocate her business to where she lives, to be told that not only where I work could be subject to parking charges, but where myself and our young family enjoy our leisure time, could also be subject to parking charges is absurd!
