We need tourism and these charges will be a deterant to tourists. Families who come day after day during good weather will not pay £10 a day to park. I live on the new estate at the Quays and last year I noticed some visitors parking on the estate and this will push more to do the same causing frustration and distress to residents. The winter charges are extremely thoughtless. Those that visit during the winter months are supporting the local businesses on the island will do so less with parking charges. I feel parking should be charged, however the high price suggested is too much. I feel it should be free for 1 hr, £2 upto 3 hours, £5 all day summer months. Winter should be free up to 3 hrs, £3 all day. Im a Barry resident, have been for most of my life and ive watched Barry's tourism go down hill. The last few years have picked up but with Holton Rd deteriorating and talk of charges I feel the council are fighting against us in the battle to bring Barry back.

Charging for parking will stop people visiting the Island. Why should community tax payers have to pay to park on a road they are already contributing to?

Encourage people not discourage! I for one won't be visitng. This will only push people into the residential areas causing even more problems. Barry is turning into a total nightmare!

This would be bad for everyone who lives locally goes to barry island especially the businesses ! If you have to charge at least make it a reasonable amount please you will damage the local economy if you don’t . Use some common sense .

I wouldn't/wont be using any facilities where I have to pay such high prices for car parking. This will mean less money in the area as I am sure I am not the only one.

We need to encourage people to Barry Island and this will put people off. Come on, don't do this to people.

Think it is absolutely disgusting that the council are imposing these car park charges. It will have a severely detrimental effect on traders on the island as it will put people off coming! I swear this council won’t be happy until it’s a ghost town!!! Also as a resident of Barry island (Clive Road), I am concerned that people will look to park around the streets instead which means residents will struggle to park.

They are supposed to be working for the town not against it.

As a barry resident I would regularly go to the island in a free two hour slot, and get coffee/ice creams/ the kids would play on the beach and the amusements. I would not visit if it meant I had to pay to park.

I’m a dog walker, this enjoyable passtime will now cost me and my many dog walker friends each day, unbelievable what are the council thinking!

I am a resident of Adar-y-mor and am feed up on unable to park out side my house hold. This rd is used for visitors to park and use the bottom of the rd for a turning circle. We come home from work and some days got to park on breakseadrive. Not having it and putting up with it any more. You need to give this rd a parking resident parking only .

Charging for parking in our local town & seafront is ludicrous. This will effect traders enormously & they already struggle. Town is awful in choice of shops & this will make things even worse.

iOS Barry’ Island resident and am extremely concerned at the likelihood of visitors being forced to park outside my property.
