There needs to be encouragement, not discouragement for people to visit the island. Businesses' will find it hard to survive - especially in winter if this scheme goes ahead!

Absolutely ridiculous that the Vale are imposing charges. They will lose the tourists and local businesses will lose the income. The island will slowly close!! Ludicrous for a local authority that rely heavily on tourism!!

Parking charges for stays under 2 hours is damaging to the local economy.

We live very close to the island in the new development. As there are no "resident only "notices up people do use the cul-de- sac to park. I do strongly object to the proposed charges but for local residents not being able to park outside their property should also be taken into consideration. Barry needs all the revenue it can get, charging people to park is definitely not going to help.

This seems short sighted especially during autumn and winter when business is already slow as it is.

Very concerned about proposed parking charges. Additional costs to visit our beautiful beaches and surrounding areas is a great shame. We, the people of Barry, have been committed to the preservation of these areas and should not be punished by removing free access. This fatal mistake must be reconsidered. Very disappointed with the proposals. It will certainly make people think about whether to visit or not, or indeed whether they can afford to do so. Visiting our beach area has been the longest standing great day out with minimal expenditure. Sad day when you won't be able to enjoy a day out at the beach without worrying about the cost.

stop trying to kill the Island -- people with businesses have worked so hard to make this a lovely place -- we've got car parks isn't that enough!! should be spending money on allowing residents to park during the summer months !!! houses with drives in Cardiff have residents bays outside their houses why cant we???

This would increase parking in residential areas and will cause chaos. I vote against paying for parking.

Please allow a 2 hour period of free parking
Terrible idea. If it’s not broke don’t fix it.
Rediculous idea.
