Petition against the proposed parking charges to Barry Island

Simply won’t be worth the price of a coffee with a nice view before /after work

Walk and a bag of chips just got more expensive..... ridiculous ! Walk and a coffee just got more expensive...... Does the council want the Island used or not ? Keep squeezing money out of residents pockets and something will have to give !!! Gggrrrrrrrr..........

Parking charges will destroy business's in the island and stop local families from being able go to the island regularly, so us that are paying council tax in Barry will be priced out of using our local facilities and supporting out local business 's. It's a disgrace

This will effectively make the island too expensive for local residents who keep the economy healthy during those periods when there are few tourists. I foresee more cafes etc closing during winter months. Backwards thinking, I'm afraid.

I work full time down the island, this is going to be a total nightmare when this comes into effect.

I think this will have a massive effect on the shops . If I was going for a quick walk and coffee I would not want to pay for parking to do this and I believe a lot of other barry residents feel the same way

Parking charges will kill the businesses and the enjoyment of the local beauty spots for the local. People cannot afford parking charges if they are making regular trips.

I’m absolutely disgusted at this proposal which is just another money making effort by the council. It will deter people from visiting Barry which will ultimately result in the local traders suffering. The VoG council should be trying to encourage visitors to Barry but this will only put people off and undo all the successful work over the years to increase visitor numbers.

Will destroy people’s lively hoods

You are going to impact the best facility this area has to offer. It will impact the businesses greatly. I come over every day. I buy coffee every day. I cannot do this if I have to pay to park.

I believe this will stop people using Barry island how sad will that be .

If this is true I will not be visiting Barry Island again

I think these charges are really going to affect how Barry Island is used and will discourage visiting the beach.

I am. Sry much against this proposal to introduce parking charges at this level. I am a dog walker and use the facilities at Barry island every day and this will stop if the charges are introduced as I cannot afford £10 per day as I am there for an hour or more

Totally outrageous, just going to kill Barry. Traders are going to suffer big time, barry town will also loose a lot of money. I will definitely l not pay to park in my home town which I have lived all my life. You have already put council tax up again and want us residents to keep paying out, do you know what a lot of people are struggling and you keep kicking the people of Barry. Totally disgusting. You ask for feed but never listen, but hope everyone will come together to support this
