This will stop me and my family using Barry island for our daily walk and summer trips with our grand children. We walk daily to keep healthy as the government and NHS advise and regularly take 2 to 3 hours with a stop for a coffee.

It would be such a shame if these parking charges came in. Locals will be affected the most! Undoubtedly local businesses would suffer (especially in winter) and people would only be pushed out to seek out parking in residential areas, which is again unfair on residents.

This council may as well board up all the shops and businesses, throw in the tumbleweed and erect a RIP Barry sign

Council need to manage the money better, not keep taxing the community to cover their inadequacies.

Parking charges will prevent visitors from going to the island, it's ludicrous making people pay 10.00, when only an hour is free.. Barry Council at their finest, AGAIN......

Yet another misguided VGC revenue generation attempt which penalises Local residents whilst destroying local business. The charges would cost me an additional £730/year - never mind the excessive Annual Rates hikes with no perceived benefit .....

I work on the island and parking charges of this level would be detrimental not only to myself but to general footfall on the island. Charges need to be reduced.

This is a terrible idea for Barry tourism and will deter visitors across the board. Another idiotic decision by clueless people.

This will not help businesses on the island, or those folk that very kindly volunteer their time to tidy the beaches.

How about free permits for locals? That would seem fair.

My town is meant for tourism, we can't attract tourists if they have nowhere to park. This council has to go

This will have a detrimental effect upon visitor numbers, and also on business for local traders.

It’s a ridiculous idea and hitting the public again making them out of pocket. Great business’ also who need people visiting.
