Petition against the proposed parking charges to Barry Island

Backward step when trying to promote the Island,

As a small business owner on the Island. This will have a detrimental affect on my business.

Please dont make these changes the Island needs to thrive not take a dive.

Is the Council trying to close down local businesses and put people off coming to the area and using the facilities?!

Runners, customers, visitors, volunteers, children, dog walkers, beach lovers,... so many people affected for this measure.....

Parking charges will mean people spend less time on the island and are less likely to stop and buy food/drink from or visit local amenities. It will have people parking in side streets causing congestion and inconveniencing local residents.

This is absolutely ridiculous. You are not only affecting every business over the island but you are affecting the local community by limiting them to 1 hour or pay. Also it's absolutely ridiculous getting people to pay over the winter months, you should be attracting people not teetering them. This will affect dog walkers, visitors, park runners, locals and businesses massively. .. .all to line your own pockets. Some things should be done for the good of the town and not just for you to make some extra money at everyone else's expense

As a local rate payer I think the charges are denying local people the chance to enjoy the amenities all year round especially the cafe's who need the trade during off season.

Yet another quick cash scheme from the guys at the Vale council

As dog walkers we would not visit the Island in the winter months if we are forced to pay to park.

Great to see island and knap thriving. This will have a detrimental effect on businesses

We visit Barry very often, parking charges will make us think about so often, you need the tourists for the income we bring, what a stupid idea yet again the council have come up with again.

Please stop killing our small businesses

This is a scandalous idea by the Council!

My partner and I only have 1 space between us so I don't have a designated parking space. If this were to happen then I would struggle to find a parking space near our address because of how close we are to the island and current parking issues.

You are driving not only visitor's away but more importantly you are penalizing local people who want to visit our beautiful beaches. Next you will be charging to swing in the sea.

I am against the parking charges. Its as if Council are trying to kill Barry off.
