Petition against the proposed parking charges to Barry Island

Locals will lose out

The proposals will kill local trade.

I just wouldn't be able to afford the parking as well I'm bi polar and it's the only place I'm at peace

Ridiculous, this will reduce visitors and kill off trade

Local businesses need help to survive NOT hindrance!

There is no need for there to be more car park charges. It is greedy and selfish that the council have come up with this and it shouldn’t happen as it will destroy local businesses and Barry Island wouldn’t be as popular. There is just nothing good about the charges, such a pointless suggestion.

Outrageous , all the money that has been spent on making Barry Island a place to enjoy ,which I may add is a free public place. I visit the island almost everyday from winter to summer to walk my dog, i always grab a coffee as am out at least 2 hours. During the summer am on the beach with my family all day. Vale of Glamorgan council think wisely before destroying another part of Barry.

Appalling, All the money that's been spent on the island to bring in locals and visitors, who wants to pay £10 a day to park when the beach belongs to the public, Vale of Glamorgan council think about what you're doing to the visitors and businesses, shame on you.

I think the proposed pricing for car parking at Barry Island is too much!

I think the parking charges are disgraceful and shouldn't be this much. do you expect locals and tourists to pay this much to come to Barry. you have done barry island up lovely and no-one will really enjoy it. I go to Barry Island at least twice a week and go for a walk and grap a coffee and chips but if I'm going to have to pay for parking all year round and of the price you are charging I probably won't go down which will cause business which have been opened for years loose money.

We go at least once a week {often more) for coffee or to eat. In the summer we often go to the beach. We won't be doing this anymore if we have to pay for parking. I feel very sorry for all businesses that will be effected, possibly resulting in closures and inevitably job losses.

Ridiculous decision.

I will not pay to park anywhere in Barry. I am a resident and pay enough Council Tax, its disgusting

I am a volunteer for whitmore bay surf Life saving club, I travel from Cardiff gate every week to teach children vital beach skills and have done so for the last 10 years. My time is FREE, my fuel I PAY FOR, and now Barry Council, you expect ME to pay £10 to develop these childrens life skills and first aid skills!!! REALLY!!
