I take my dog to the beach and to cosmeston daily. I think it's appalling having to pay for our local parks and beaches. Plus this will have a massive affect on the trade at Barry island.

I walk on the Island most days for upwards of 2 hours. If I have to pay £4 a day to park, I either won't bother, park further away, or not buy my regular coffee at Coffee Cove or Whitmore & Jackson. Local businesses will inevitably suffer.

this a short sighted reaction to the limited and inadequate money given to councils and ultimately to the Welsh government by the tory government and will in the eend reduce the quality of life for everybody both local and visitors to Barry. altmently this is the fault of the tories.

Will efect the traders as well . When the weather is rubbish its only a few that go over there . Not many people will pay that much for a couple off hours over the island . Thus traders will suffer .

I live locally in Barry and the parking charges will definitely impact how often I visit the island. At the moment i visit the island to enjoy our beautiful beaches and walks, support local businesses, attend local volunter litter picking events and organised entertainment events. The proposed parking charges will definitely stop me from visiting as often.

These days it’s any excuse for the council to try and pocket money from the general public. I currently go to Barry Island fairly often and can honestly say that if parking charges are incurred; I will just go elsewhere, instead. However; putting my needs aside, implementing parking charges at Barry simply means that local businesses are certainly not being considered yet they’re the ones that will suffer the most.

If we start charging for parking in the town we will not have people coming in, the town is already run down

It appears that this council are doing their best, to put people off from visiting Barry Island.

We should be encouraging tourists for our community and local traders as well as supporting the fantastic work our volunteers dedicate their time to each week.

I use the island for sporting activities as well as walks with friends coffees lunches etc charging will have a huge impact and just as the island is somewhere to be proud of with all the new cafes they will suffer hugely this is the wrong decision !

Free parking is essential for accessibility and trade

On street parking charges all year round will make the Island a ghost town in the off-season months. It is the locals that come to the Island then that keep the traders ticking over in the lean months. Stop this ridiculous idea now.

Shameful decision to charge for all year round parking on Barry Island.

Madness. More money for the council Christmas party. None of it will go back to the community. None will fix roads. It will however fatten the pockets if people whose pockets are deep enough
