Petition against the proposed parking charges to Barry Island

Parking in the car park is already expensive so adding further to that with this proposal can only damage business for the area. We travel from Cardiff to Barry Island and already find the parking charges offputting.

Are they trying to kill off the Island enjoyment and the revenue it generates Which twerps came up with this ‘brilliant ‘ idea and how can they justify it

Disgrace, the greedy council trying to line their pockets again at the expense of local traders and the public.

After all the hard work put in by the Council to encourage people to visit Barry Island they now put a significant barrier in place by introducing high parking charges. Disappointing for all the trades and visitors.

Scrap the proposal for high parking charges at Barry Island!

I feel if they're trying to lose tourism, this is the way to go about it... badly maintained parking and charging people for it, wont wash.

Barry Island is just starting to flourish again, these proposed parking charges will be devastating for businesses on Barry Island and local businesses who supply them. Possibly time for a change of council?

We will go elsewhere rather than pay these increased charges.

This will effect all the lovely activities and small businesses on the Island. Parkrun for example is a free activity and promotes and supports healthy living, giving confidence and camaraderie to those who struggle with both health and confidence. This will no longer be a free activity if parking charges are in place. This will have an immediate impact on something that a group of volunteers do for nothing, inspiring others to engage in communal activities.

If the parking charges go above £3, I will not be visiting the island. During our visits to the island, we always purchase refreshments and food from the cafes and chip shops there. It'd be such a shame for them to lose trade because of this. If their businesses folded, the council would be out of pocket in the way of business rates.

Absolutely disgusting,the Council should be encouraging visitors to Barry Island not using it as a way to make more money for them to abuse.

I will not be able to afford to visit at. I will take my custom elsewhere.
