I think it will stop the many people who come from Barry and further afield if they impose parking restrictions and charges.

The parking charges will be affect local businesses and stop local people enjoying our seaside amenities if they have to pay parking charges for any time over an hour- Please re think your plans -2 hrs is more reasonable

All Vale car parking should be free to local residents. We already pay via our council tax

Parking fees will drive tourist and locals away.

This is absolute insanity. Actively preventing the easy enjoyment of our open spaces in the interests of profit.

I won’t go to Barry again if they charge it’s the reason I don’t go to Cardiff

I think we need new councillors who have a vision of the future not money grabbing ones that will kill trade on the island and elsewhere

This is cutting your own throat. People will just stop going to the island for any more than a quick walk on the prom!

This would be catastrophic for local business and the community, the island has so much potential, parking fees will deter visitors

I strongly oppose penalising motorists who want to visit and enjoy their time at Barry Island.

Vale Council what are you thinking?? You finally invest in the Island and make it a place that people want to spend time, then you discourage them from coming by introducing charges?? It will be detrimental to shops, cafes and voluntary clubs - parents will be discouraged from bringing their kids to regular fitness and lifesaving activities over the beach, and coaches who give up their time for free shouldn’t have to pay to park!

As a council, you were elected to represent listen to and provide for, all of the residents and businesses within the Vale of Glamorgan. These proposed parking charges will have a devastating effect on Barry Island and it is a step backwards. I am a retireee and a pensioner. These proposed charges will definitely stop me going for my regular coffee over Barry Island all year round.i simply would not be able to pay for coffee AND parking on a daily basis. I am sure I will not be the only one being prevented from enjoying the natural delights of our town. The traders and the fairground will suffer from a drastic reduction in trade and will probably put many out of business. It has taken a long time to build up the amenities offered and the council now wish to wipe it all out with this short sighted proposal. Do you, the council, not realise that you will pay to bring this into being only to find that you will gain very little and even lose everything, as Barry island becomes a ghost again!!! Are you expecting all the employees to pay to park - their wages simply won’t cover it!! Or are you planning to provide a FREE bus service for all employees?? I think it is time you paid attention to the wishes of the electorate as you may all be looking for jobs over Barry Island very soon otherwise.

They have already stung us with council tax rises, now they're trying to fleece us again with this. Disgusting!

Let's cancel the charges for two hour stays normally used by locals.
