Why do they have to try and ruin a good thing

It seems a shame that after so much hard work has gone into getting Barry Island back to being a resort that is lively and inviting that businesses are then going to be penalised further as parking fines will discourage visitors. Disappointing :(

I live on the island parking on our street is already horrendous in the summer this will force more people to park on our road causing nothing but added stress and inconvenience for the residents. Also family’s that don’t have much spare cash visit the island year round as it is a great free out door adventure for the children please stop crucifying the poor working family’s who visit the island £4 for parking is a ridiculous and wasteful amount of money if you have little mouths to feed on a budget

The small town where I lived in England introduced parking charges and slowly but surely people went elsewhere to shop. The local shops closed and the town is like a ghost town. So sad to think this is happening.

This reuines the idea of me bringing my children to our favourite place. This makes it more stressful and would put me off visiting.

If the council want to continue spoiling our town , they are going the right way about it. Parking charges are going to keep people away and spoil what so many people have achieved in the last few years. They seem intent on grabbing money from everywhere, selling off land for housing, now trying to grab money from car parking.

This is rediculous charging especially in the winter months. People will just go else where do coffees and ice cream. Yet again though stopping people of Barry enjoying something. Fresh air and a walk should be free. Anyone would think they want everyone to stay indoors eat junk food and get obese

I don’t want to see local businesses suffer due to reduced visitors to the Island put off by parking charges. Visitors from other parts of Barry especially will be put off I think and ‘won’t bother going over the Island’ Also being a Barry Island Resident I don’t want to see my street full of visitor cars , looking for free parking spaces, preventing myself and my neighbours from being able to park outside our houses.

The parking charges are excessive and will turn visitors and residents of Barry away from the beaches and resources.

2hr is the norm elsewhere in Barry why should the Island be any different! How about a proposal for charging for parking on Paget Rd etc to coincide with the dog ban on the main beach. The majority of the trade down the Island during the winter months are local residents, who are supporting the local businesses.

The seaside should be accessible to all

Parking charges will affect the local residents, the visitors and the local traders. Parking charges will not be good for the community or for Barry in general.

You have enough council tax out of us without robbing more from locals

Disgusting. Hard enough to find place to park without us paying for the privilege.

Taxing visits to Barry Island will diminish the number of visitors and undermine local trade.
