Implementing these charges will hit businesses and local people alike.
The Vale of Glamorgan council does little to help local business.

A great idea if ur plan is to sabotage all of the businesses down the island! Small businesses suffer enough in town and on the high street! Who ever thought this would be good?? £6 after an hour! You should be encouraging people to visit the island not discourage! STOP THIS!!

Disgusting! We want to support our local businesses. We need to encourage people to come and enjoy our beaches, not put them off by having to pay for the privilege.. life is too short.

This will affect so many people in lots of different ways, personally my daughter trains with Llantwit Major lifeguards on Barry Island on Thursday evenings from 6:15-8:15pm and we take part in park run and also volunteer at park run on Saturday mornings and I think parking charges will mean less people take part or support community initiatives. This will also affect local businesses and people will try to park on resident's streets to not pay the parking charges.

Please see sense! £5 for all day is high as it is. Let’s be more realistic £2 for upto 2 hours £3 for up to 4 hours then £5 for the day.

I understand that the council needs to make money to fill the gaps that cuts make, but I think that these parking charges are not the answer.
You will just stop the regular island visitors from going there as it will become too expensive and this will adversely effect the traders and then the council will loose money as that’s one less business paying business rates!

Keep the Island free. We all benefit from the visitors through what they spend.

Not the streets... The island should be free access to Barry and Vale residents.
