Petition against the proposed parking charges to Barry Island

that's going to cost me just to have a short walk along the sea front and stop for a coffee why would l pay for that parking as well its always been free to park so why pay now ? the council have put up my tax and they still want more from me money grabbers and if you are on a small income then forget it its to much

Moronic it’s a beach people should be able to come and enjoy without forking our loads on parking all year parking should be free

By all means charge day trippers and visitors as they will expect to pay for parking. Issue all local residents in the vale with a sticker for their vehicle entitling them to free parking. Dont do this to traders and residents please

Ridiculous charges for limited facilities. £5 all day. 1 hour free. 50p an hour thereafter.

2 steps forward 3 steps backjust as we start to see a form of rejuvenation of the area you set to destroy it .Nothing but a dirty tax on local people. I feel sorry for the local businesses

These ridiculous plans will kill our town which is already suffering from neglect at the hands of a council that doesn't care.

This idea is obviously intended to bring in much needed revenue but will have the opposite result. People will go elsewhere including me greatly affecting the businesses in the area and thus the future of Barry Island. Surely after all the improvements to the area you want to encourage people not turn them away with extortionate parking fees.

Seen this in other beach towns... businesses fold and can’t survive without the footfall... people won’t come to Barry if they have to pay to park on top of fuel - many of your visitors are out of area!!

Absolutely disgusting, visit Barry island every weekend and we are local! I will not be using barry island if these parking charges are in place
