My family enjoy visiting Barry island. It's a lovely place. Especially summer time on the beach. And when. Aloud take the dogs for a walk on the beach. Won't be visiting with those parking prices. Very sad.

We need to encourage more visitors to Barry, not discourage the ones that do visit. More council income may be needed, but this won't help.

As a local resident I have volunteered in a club on the Island. Would volunteers be expected to pay to park when they are serving the local community?

I use the Island regularly and it has a huge impact on my mental health, I can’t afford the charges, what happens to me if you charge?

I regularly walk my dogs on beach in winter months and have coffee at one of dog friendly shops, which I would no longer be able to do

There should be consultation with the local business owners about this and flexibility in charges between summer/winter.

What a good way to keep people away from local businesses and the potential to shut down a local parkrun!

Exactly echo what’s written on the petition, the small businesses rely on the free parking in winter in order for people to freely visit and spend money with them, when the island is so quiet. I live just a couple of streets away and don’t want it to become a car park as a result.

I'm a pensioner who regularly visits Barry Island for coffee etc and won't afford to go as much and also with my grandchildren, disappointed as it seems it's always about money not pleasure for people

The Island is so popular even in winter but these plans won't encourage people to visit, impacting on local businesses

Barry Island needs to encourage people to visit, parking charges will only deter people.

For years the island struggled as the popularity of the fair fell.. these small business around the park get going kept a small amount of visitors coming, now a parking charge for the limited parking spaces will kill these small business. Ridiculous idea. I guess the council hope they all close so they can build cheap timber framed houses

It should be free so that all people across society can enjoy the beautiful place we have here, to pay for that privilege is so unfair and unjust. Businesses are bound to suffer.

this is absolutely disgusting. the traders of Barry island work so hard for their businesses for the council to destroy them. stop it now!!
