I understand charging in the car parks but not on the street and especially not in the winter months. Dog walkers will go elsewhere putting cafes etc out of business and fewer people will do the runs etc.

I live on highlight park and visit the island at least twice a week and visit coffee cove, if we have to pay car parking I will not be visiting - are you trying to kill Barry Island?

Barry needs all the help it can get with facilitating trade and tourism - we have seen Holton Road completely deteriorate admittedly not as a result of parking but an inability to attract people to use the town centre please don’t let the same happen to High Street and the Island

Winter and evening charges will hit island businesses hard just as the area is beginning to become a popular destination again. All year round tourism is growing and needs to be cultivated not discouraged.

If the intention is to reduce the number of people visiting Barry Island - sadly, this is the way to do it. The proposal to charge 7 days a week is unreasonable. There are many places to visit in Wales where charges are not applied for a 2 hour stay and no charges applied after 6pm, on a Sunday or during the winter months. We are meant to be encouraging both local residents and visitors to visit Barry Island and support our local independent businesses.

this will kill off tourism during the winter months and make visitors think twice before coming to Barry during the summer. Local businesses will lose out!

I think the proposed car parking charges are going to have a detrimental impact on the businesses on Barry Island. As a regular dog walker on Barry Island I often like to have a cuppa and snack after my dog walk and enjoy the view.
The proposed charges will deter my visiting Barry Island and spending money at the various excellent cafes.
Please reconsider the charges proposed

Barry Island needs to attract visitors, not turn them away.

Support small local businesses. Cardiff did this to us in the town centre rising fees and our tradenow goes elsewhere with free parking. Shame on you. Transport links are dreadful so most people have to drive

Traders will suffer if any charge is imposed. So much better for families or anyone else for that matter to use that money on food or rides etc. Spent £30 on food for myself and family yesterday without any additional expense of parking. Robbing **##***

This will have a serious Impact on the traders and will hamper our leisure time

The Council want to save money, but the only ones who have not sacrificed anything is The Councillors let them take a pay cut for once. They’ve just upped their pay rise.

How very short sighted of an ineffective council. Make a few pounds in fees, lose thousands and countless businesses.

It will definitely put me off from going to the beach and from using the cafes. Ridiculous charges

This will definitely not help the regeneration of Barry Island. So much work has been done to make this a beautiful place to visit, why undo this by introducing car parking charges? It will deter people and affect businesses.
