Petition against the proposed parking charges to Barry Island

It is bad enough that our rates have gone up again . We get less service's from our council every year. And now they want to raise even more money with parking charges. This will effect businesses at the Island etc as people will not have the money to buy food etc be cause our greedy council is expecting it to park. This will effect All businesses in the affected areas.

Visit the island every day to walk dog and have a coffee/ lunch/ ice cream / chips etc probably find somewhere else if have to pay to walk my dog everyday.

This town need encouraging things to happen all this is doing is bringing more negativity

I am also opposed to the car parking charges at ALL car parks in Vale of Glamorgan as I regularly use the amenities daily. I feel the amount of council tax we pay should cover the cost of this.

Elderly people walking the prom should be encouraged to keep fit but need to drive to get there.

It will kill local business

We need to encourage people to come to barry to keep the independent business alive

No no no!!!! Absolute cheek!!!! Our car parking was more expensive than Tenby town centre as it was. This is ridiculous and will have a huge impact on visitors to the island!

I believe further parking charges will be detrimental to the local community and sellers.

Ii am against this proposal. Businesses will suffer because people won't go, or will stay less time. People can't afford the proposed charges plus spending in the cafés and shops. Failing businesses means less business rates. You cannot have it both ways and they way you are going you won't have it at all.

By all means charge £1 all day in street, but stop taking the proverbial! The local council should be encouraging tourism not hindering it.....!

Don't drive people away from the island. Please!

It will drive away much needed revenue in Barry, we need to be attracting custom not driving it away,

I am strongly against the proposed parking charges. This will seriously affect the businesses in Barry island.

Stupid

I think residents of Barry should have free parking. Also, a lot of elderly people use the spaces along the front, it’s not right to ask them to part with their pension money. A walk along the beach, followed by coffee & something to eat is such a simple pleasure but the new charges could make it unaffordable for our pensioners.

This is absolutely ridiculous, the council should be doing everything within their power to encourage people to be using the Island more in order to support local businesses and encouraging new investment. This Is almost as good an idea as the ‘fitness park’ on the island, that was a humdinger!!!!
