Why is it we have to charge for everything. If you want people to come down the island and spend money and then have to pay for the privilege they won’t bother. They will go to porthcawl where they have the same but free parking m. Money grabbing all the time

Please provide 2hrs free parking before charges commence and reduced or free during winter as dog walkers support daily during this time

I would agree to having reduced or free charging during winter as us dog walkers keep the island going plus 2hrs free parking before charges take effect

Will ruin Barry. Greedy council who provide very little for the extortionate rates of council tax.

This decision needs to be reversed. Speak to local people who understand the area.

The high street is under enough pressure without adding to it with this unnecessary charge

This measure is a ridiculous way of raising money. It will only impact the traders and visitors to Barry. It will also endanger people's lives as people choose to park on streets and housing sites outside of the paid parking areas.

As an Barry Island born and raised child and now a Pensioner; I visit several times a week and to have to pay each time would deter me from going there. I do support the cafes and shops.

Barry is already struggling as a town. Parking charges could sound the death knell fir traders. It will deter visitors from coming even to the beach.

Why is the council offices car park free? Start charging £10 for all day parking plus £5 for the security guard.

People won’t pay to park on the street they will just park further from the sea causing yet more problems for residents. As it is in the summer we can spend hours of our time trying to get to and from our own homes because of the traffic. Plymouth Road, Amherst Crescent, Archer Rd, Ivor St, already have massive parking problems when there is football in the park or a blue sky. We need resident parking areas, parking enforcement officers, people park dangerously close to corners all the time. What needs to be done is encouraging visitors to use public transport and actually working with the providers of the transport to ensure it is adequate. A bus that takes over an hour to get to Cardiff or a 2 carriage train which may or may not turn up is not adequate. Park and ride options should be explored, can’t something be done with the vintage buses, encourage people to start their day out with those? It is ludicrous that the people of Barry, the ones that are here in the winter, supporting our traders, enjoying our Island, vast numbers of us clearing up after our visitors throughout the year are being penalised for one of the perks of living here; being able to enjoy our beach when it’s not full of people leaving goodness knows what behind.

Parking charges not just on the island but in town as well will deter people coming into Barry.
