Petition against the proposed parking charges to Barry Island

I feel sorry for the traders in this town . The council does them a great disservice ...

Please dont do this. Such a wonderful job has been achieved with the prom over the last few years, Charging silly ampunts is just going to undo all thsts been done. Youll get fewer visitors. Which is exactly whats happened to our shopping centres. Just learn by other's mistakes PLEASE

Yet another money making exercise!

After watching the hard work and passion that has gone into developing Barry Island and the surrounding area. Making it an amazing reinvention of a successful seaside town, the introduction of Car parking charges would be a major step back. This would only hit businesses and local residents the hardest and would push visitors from Cardiff and the surrounding area to other beaches like Ogmore, Llantwit Major and Porthcawl. Charging for the Family memories that Barry Island Creates would be a Big Mistake.

We want people to come to Barry Island, not send them away. Changing parking laws will prevent more visitors and cause abruption. Do not change a unique opportunity to bring people to our beautiful beach.

1hr is ridiculous, and it seems a money making exercise to impose these changes.

We pay enough council tax to live in Barry as it. I think if you live in Barry parking should be free.

Want more people to lose weight and be healthy to help this country’s nhs but you want to charge to park in a free open space!!!

These council proposals will certainly negtively affect the number of people visiting Barry Island. In my opinion a foolish proposal at a time when the council is trying to attract more visitors.

Dogwalkers who go to the Island day in day out in the winter will be penalised again. We're the only ones over there when the weather is poor keeping coffee shops ticking over.

These charges will have a huge detrimental effect on the businesses on Barry Island at a time when more visitors are being encouraged what with the events laid on during the year, partly by the Council!!
