Petition against the proposed parking charges to Barry Island

Absolutely ridiculous. You'll drive away trade from local businesses and hence you'll receive less in corporation tax from central government, never mind the astronomical increases to Council Tax of late hitting families in the pocket.

Dam disgusting,this will drive people away.The Vale Council don't have one brain cell between them.I have called on the Council leader to resign.

Parking charges will increase congestion in the residential streets and inevitably reduce visitors to the Island.

This is a good way to attract people coming to Barry, what a dull idea you should be encouraging people to come for the day, family time, exercise and seeing what Barry as got to offer, shame on you

People are already finding it hard with little money to go out. Car parking fees will keep people at home and trade in Barry will suffer.

These new charges are just plain ridiculous. Seems the council wants to kill off tourism and trade in Barry. With these new parking charges, school budgets slashed, black bags limited and the council tax rise, I do wonder what we're getting from the council in return?

Providing reasonably priced parking is one thing but the planned charges will drive people away.

This will ruin locals’ enjoyment of Barry Island, deter visitors and wreck businesses. Is this really what you want?

The council should be looking at ways to make Barry Island more attractive to visitors not less as if they proceed with increased car parking charges this will reduce the number of visitors to the Island. What are they thinking off!!!

It's not going to help people come the Barry Island, only hinder them.

They wonder why the nation is obese, and poor mental health is on the rise. If people can’t excercise for free in a healthy natural environment it’s going to get worse.

This would put me off visiting Barry, especially in the winter. Parking should be free then to encourage people to come

It should be at leas 2 hours free, especially for those who want to exercise themselves and their dogs

We need to be able to support local businesses, not destroy them with unreasonable parking charges.
