Petition against the proposed parking charges to Barry Island

Will cost me from £20 a week !!!

You are killing the town and beaches.

It will stop from going many places

I woukd not visit in the winter at these prices

We already pay road tax, why should we pay again. It's NOT private property!

An hour for locals is not enough!!!

This is a very shortsighted plan by the council. Visitors won't just cough up the extra money, they'll just stop visiting and spending money in local businesses.

Locals at the very least should be able to park free as they pay council tax

This is not right

2 hours free give time for food and drink and prom stroll.

These charges would result in a dear day out, with people already struggling, it would reduce the amount of visitors to Barry, I totally disagree with the increase.

Why ruin something that has worked for years??? This will drive people away.

Please do not but pressure on the already stressed economy of Barry and Barry Island.

This will stop locals from going to the island for a few hours and will be a huge loss for the local businesses.

We pay too much for council tax as it is ! Vale council- get income from elsewhere !

The South Wales area is not the wealthiest and causing increased costs for family to spend precious time together is an outrage. This is a tax on healthy outdoor pursuits- walking, running and swimming in our limited resourced environment. Do the council prefer people to stay indoors and watch tv/play video games?

Hold your heads in shame, give traders a chance, this is a public place, it does not belong to the council... we pay for for the service you provide!

I think it not right for more parking charges . Keeping it 2 hours in the town and surounding streets is ample . For anyone . If charges are made buissness will lose out as it will stoo people like me coming to Barry . I live in country side and need my car . Othwrwise its three bus rides to get there and three back home six hours travelling for what would be ten minutes in my car . So no i dont think there should be charges for parking ..

How can you do this to the people who are paying you a fortune in business rates for goodness sake the council are going to spend millions on parking machines and people policing this I am disgusted with them
