Petition against the proposed parking charges to Barry Island

This is a shambles but the council..! People want to come to the Barry and enjoy themselves with out having to worry about parking charges..! This would definitely effect the local shops, restaurants etc..!

I find this a disgrace.

Awful from the council. Lining pockets instead of giving the Vale some much needed freedom to enjoy our beautiful Seaside.

Stop this madness...... We need more reasons for people to visit.. not give them reasons to stay away or go somewhere else.

Parking charges will eventually lead to the demise of Barry Island. What are the workers supposed to do? Many people go for a coffee and walk and now they will be charged for such a simple pleasure? Please explain to me what you feel this achieves?

Council should be ashamed of themselves. Barry is dying as it is, especially the town. Stop wasting money on other things, e.g. bus lanes and cycle lanes that are hardly ever used. I could go on but would take me all day!

Classic move by an out of touch and out of depth council. Shocking.

Barry town centre is struggling enough as it is without the additional stress of car park charges keeping people out of the town centre. Car park charges will be firther supporting the likes of amazon and out of town retail parks.

I regularly visit Barry, in the summer months with all the family and during the winter months we take the dogs for the day so they can run freely on the beach but I certainly not going to pay to take my dogs for a walk

Don't kill the golden goose after all the good works to get the Island back on its feet. It took over 10 years to recover from the 1997 closure of the holiday camp. Don't risk sending out the wrong messages. Last year was a weather driven success. A wet season plus car park charges might be a test you will regret.

Absolutely disgusting & money grabbing proposal. The car park fees are already hefty as they are! At least design some sort of permit for anyone living in Barry to obtain which allows them free parking in the car park, let alone charge them for bay parking too!

This decision is I’ll thought out. Please stop the parking charge proposal

This move will kill trade on the Island and deprive many locals of a fabulous location.

I think it's awfull berry is my home town I was brought up their and I still visit regular but I won't be coming if I have to pay 10 pound parking 3 kids cost enough on the fair through the summer and I'm closer to porthcawl ill just take them their were it's free

It will effect the local businesses, stop the charges
