Petition against the proposed parking charges to Barry Island

Businesses are struggling as it it, this will kill it off, just as Barry Island was beinging to boom again, what on earth are the council thinking of. They will loose out in the end, busineeses will fail, therefore close and no rates going to the council. People will not pay it and therefore not come. £10 a day is ridiculous. Leave it as it is.

When people come to spend money in Barry Island they don't need to be ripped off with exorbitant parking charges.

Why are the council so dense to the needs and wants of the public of Barry. Barry is a place that is growing rapidly and we should be encouraging all to participate in going forward. Not back !!

Please reconsider

This lovely island should not be put out of reach to anyone. It should be there in all its beauty for everyone to enjoy. Please think carefully before alienating visitors who will go somewhere else and spend their money at another cafe, chippy etc. There is always an alternative place for people. Barry, don't lose out!!!!

Disgusting way to treat visitors and residents. If you must charge make it a fee that all can arrived like 30p or 50p per hour.

Agree that the terms proposed by the council are too big of a step with no real incentive to make people want to pay £10 just to park their car, people will go elsewhere.

The council work for we the people, we the people do not consent to these unlawful charges!

My son's have football over the island this will not only effect the local clubs but the football clubs from the Vale that travel to play here.

"Let's make Barry a tourist place"... you want to make people come here !! There a lot of free parking there that people look for at least ! Give them that and you'll see more in the local business ..... your all MONEY MAD before anything else

£10 for a days parking is an absolute joke. Also the streets surrounding Barry Island are not yellow lined so people are just going to park on the new developments. Seems a bit strange that the council would hike the costs up on the island when people are just going to park by Asda and walk over. They won't even make any money if they push this through.

Barry has lost enough good businesses as it is! Please we don't want to see any more close down !!!

Barry Island is looking the best it ever had and the council always has to throw a spanner in the works ..the traders at the Island need the people to visit and spend why should the council up the car park chargers that’s going to stop people coming and also I live on the island and it’s hard to park outside my house as it is ..Iff the council chargers more for car parking the visitors will park outside the residents of the Island more ..

Utterly stupid idea, trying to kill of the sea front

Residents of Barry pay high council tax we do not need to have to pay for parking in our own town. Can anyone tells me where exactly where the council tax money is going certainly not on the town. It is a disgrace. Ashamed to tell anyone I Live in Barry. About time the Councillors stopped being greedy and grabbing everything for themselves as and start thinking of the residents. We have no decent clothes shops. Barry is just one huge housing estate. I can hear all you councillor saying yipee to that. More money. Please do not put parking charges in place.

As well as the Island, it's cold Knap I object to the most.
