the new meal plan expectation is COMPLETELY absurd and should not be expected of students to pay over $1000 more for their meal plan than they are paying this year. It's completely awful, terrible, and many other things.

I have enough trouble finding time to grab food between classes and meetings. The last thing I need is to make sure I have my meals at certain locations at certain times. Flexibility is key for me.

I won't use all the swipes and I don't need 3000 per semester

While the current status of the meal plan is less than desirable. This new plan takes away freedom from the students and forces an agenda pushed upon us.

If we are spending the money for meal plan, we should be able to spend it how we want. Also, why did the school spend so much money on these a la carte locations only to now push students away from them?

There is no way that I will be able to go through any of the meal plan options, and I think many students are in the same position- we couldn't get our money's worth if we tried. We need a CHEAPER option. I don't care what the "value" of $2000-$3000 of food is...I know I do not need that amount. I'm going to be forced to take out loans to pay for food that I ultimately will not eat. That is ridiculous. Even without discounts, a declining balance of $1000 would be more than enough for me. I want to see an option that is an honest representation of what a normal college student eats in a day. Expecting students to use swipes for 2-3 buffets a day is irrational. I prefer the a la carte locations anyway, as do most people I know. Thank you, thank you, thank you for fighting this issue. To me, this meal plan means that Miami is forcing us to throw away money. It is not too late for reform!!

I think that the current meal plan is amazing. I often grab ala carte food in between classes and don't want to have to sit down at dining halls just so I don't waste "swipes."

This also exploits less affluent students who won't be able to spend their meal plan as they choose, A la carte has such better value: Delish sandwiches FTW.

As a vegetarian who already has problems with the food, this restricts my freedom.

Our current meal plan provides much more freedom as in how, where and when I would like to spend my meal plan credit is totally up to us. Whereas the new meal plan restricts that freedom and charges us even more for passes we might not even use for most of the semester.

225 buffet meals a semester as the minimum is way too many, especially since it doesn't roll over. It would be fine if they did roll over, but it seems like the school is trying to get max amount of money out of students rather than being reasonable.

To-go boxes at buffets are a good start to revising this plan, but the over thing that must be restored is a stronger support and push for students to use a la cart options because they are the most used and efficient and quick for students. They might as well close Maple street and reopen it as a dining hall because nobody will be going there if this meal plan passes

I don't have the time in my schedule to eat at dining halls. I maybe go to them 5-6 times a month.
