Petition Against the New Meal Plan-Miami University 2016

Not very happy with the new meal plan when I don't even eat at dining halls

The meal plan is wildly unbalanced. I currently use the buffet style dining halls only a fee times a month. Due to the quality of food.

Outrageous. It is the students money, they should be free to do with it as they please.

I am signing this petition against the new meal plan b/c as a parent of a Miami student I do not agree with it.

Miami University's meal plan has already been taking advantage of its students, both in the form of outrageous prices as well as low overall quality of food. The recent example of a student who discovered a maggot in her broccoli while eating at Harris Dining Hall is only the tip of the iceberg

The new plan sounds bad. The old one works just fine

While I do not agree with the current pricing structure of MU dining (most, if not all, of the dining facilities are above market price) the new plan does not appear better. The unfortunate and slightly deceptive pricing of al a carte locations is unlikely to change under the new plan, while the freedom to choose where to eat will be taken away. Change is welcome, but not in this iteration.

This meal plan is a money-sucker. They are taking away our meal discounts. They are limiting the places at which we can dine. They are only giving us a limited number of "swipes" for buffets and if we don't use all the swipes we sign up for, they do not carry over. Why do they think this is a good idea?

Just another way Miami tries to screw us over. Thanks Miami. Maybe care about your students instead of yourselves.

I feel like this plan is counterproductive. Miami University has spent millions of dollars renovating Armstrong Student Center and Maple Street Station, yet these dining options have been removed by the meal plan. Offering students only $100 dollars of declining balance in the most practical and popular locations harms the students. I feel now that Miami has invested into Armstrong Student Center and Maple Street Stations only to appeal to potential students on tours. I have always believed that Miami University has had the best intentions for their students, but by removing all centralized and convenient dining options Miami University has gone out of their ways to hurt the students.

No discount on a 10$ salad? Lol FOH with that.

The new meal plan is unnecessarily complicated and does not reflect the general eating habits of Miami students. I don't want to pay $7.00 every time I just need to grab something on my way of class. Dining halls are for the big meals of the day and it doesn't make sense to pay a buffet price for a small amount of food.
