Petition Against the New Meal Plan-Miami University 2016

I'm vegan, and I always had problems eating on campus. I ended up eating the same thing every day, and so really regretted having to spend so much money on a meal plan every semester. It definitely wasn't worth it for me, and increasing the cost of it is definitely a step in the wrong direction.

I think there has to be a better way

I am a parent. My daughter likes buying prepackaged food from the markets. She has gotten sick numerous times, including norovirus, from food consumed from the buffets.

The new meal plans is a complete step in the opposite direction of what they have been building

My daughter has a small appetite and usually buys a la cart. It would be a huge waste of food....and money!!

The new proposed meal plan is obviously a choice that prioritizes making money over providing nutritious and convenient food. NO STUDENT eats two buffet meals a day, and now you're discouraging students from eating at the a la carte locations Miami spent millions of dollars building. The new plan also makes healthier options, like salads from Americas and wraps from King Cafe incredibly expensive. A student should not have to pay 3,000 dollars to eat where they'd like, how much they'd like, and what they'd like.

I am completely against the new meal plan and I am frustrated with the schools change in policy regarding meal plan and expenses.

I don't always have time to eat at dining halls so I prefer to spend money a la cartel which won't be possible with the new meal plan.

This isn't what the student body wants or needs.

Alumni here, I think change is great, but this one doesn't seem like a great solution to the meal plan issue.

I would like to take out box from the buffet dining halls.

I completely disagree with the new proposed meal plan arranged by the school and think the plan should be revisited.

Make food affordable. Not everyone has parents in the top 1%.
