As an RA, this is not a very feasible option for me. My classes are very far away from my dorm and any dining hall. It would also mean I would need to space out a minimum of 3 hours to eat, which is not always feasible. I would greatly appreciate it if the dining hall swipes also transfered or there was an equivalent declining balance sum.

My daughter will never eat all of the meals in the traditional dining halls that this plan says it offers. There should be a lower number of traditional meals on the plan and more money allocated to the ala carte side of the deal. This plan encourages the students to eat as much as they can in the buffet lines. Hasn't it been proven that this encourages bad eating habits for the students as they grow, and grow and grow?

The new meal plan is much too different then the current one, and I do not think it is fair.

I am a Miami alumnae and I support on-campus eating options that best benefit the students. I hope these changes are considering the personal opinions of the current students and future ones as well. Empower them to create a school environment that they love.

The current meal plan is an added bonus that helped me choose Miami, why would I buy the meal plan (the new plan) when I can get Kroger for so much cheaper.

The new meal plan is not in the best interest of the students. The most common way of eating on campus is not buffet style. Therefore many students will need to spend more money to be able to eat at those locations and have buffet points go unused. It will generate money for the university and leave the students to pay more than they need to which is unfair to students and their families.

As a parent of a sophomore and incoming freshman I do not agree with the change in the meal plan.

I am a parent. (I have also voiced my concerns with Miami as well.)

As someone who works in the dining halls, being open all day will not benefit anyone. We need the downtime between meals to prepare for the next meal. All dishes have to be washed and restocked. Good has to be prepped. Silverware sorted, floors and counters cleaned. As a student who works, this would just add to the already stressful schedule is workers have. And just as it was stated, our current meal plan benefits us more in terms of convienience. Changing the meal plan would benefit no one except the university.
