Petition against the Long Harbour Road Industrial Compost Facility

Deffinately not!! The smell would be MUCH WORSE than a farm and you know what the smells like. Put it by his house in hearts content if memory serves me correct

to the idiots councillors in Long Hr that voted for this and will have the voters remind them next election, the money your getting now won't last you but the people you're hurting will always remember you. the LHDC that obliviously are getting a "under the table" reward will hopefully be audited and the money that's been funnelled to friends and accounts will be found.

Such a facility should not be constructed near any municipality and away from any populated areas and well off the road.

As life time residents in Long Harbour, we fee we've had more than our share of polution and the effects of it. I don't believe this type of facility should be put in such close proximity to any residential or public recreatiobnal areas . Wild animals such as bears , foxes, coyoties, gulls, flys and rodents will increase immensely . This and the odor will be a huge problem for surrounding communities, campers, cabin owners, hunters, trouters, berry pickers or even walkers. It should be built in a remote area far away from residential and recreational areas.

Should not be permitted within 100km of any community, cabin area, campground or Provincial park.

Why do these places, and garbage site transfer sites, have to setups right under your nose?? My gawd, take it a hundred kilometres either way from a comunity or home, or campground or cabin area.

A definite NO. Too close to residential area

Do not mistake our support of a Vale’s use of a pre-exiting industrial site as a general "open for business," land use policy on greenfield development for the Highway 201/202 junction. This is a messy proposition! We are fundamentally, and diametrically opposed to development that impacts on our natural countryside and environmentally sensitive habitats. This project does not meet a required benchmark to scar the land and putrefy the air! There is little or no benefit to the residents of the surrounding (and impacted communities) of Long Harbour, Mount Arlington Heights, Chapel Arm and Norman’s Cove/Long Cove, with much anticipated costs and risks to the quality of life impacts for all residents. Further, there are municipalities within the Avalon Region with pre-existing sites and facilities that could be leveraged, at a likely lesser cost and certainly a much smaller environmental footprint and residential impact than the current proposal.
