Please consider this petition very seriously.
It is inconceivable that there is even an attempt to build commercial factory in one of the last few remaining areas where the government and the local people have for years protected it from destruction.
There is plethora of evidence already available which shows how this project would destroy the species and ecosystems endemic to the area. Allowing this project to go though would not only be immoral and illegal, it would be one of the greatest crimes against the one of the last surviving virgin areas of South Africa’ native environment. Please stop it now before it is too late, this project would build precedence for others to abuse what is left of the still untouched environments...

1. Hierdie projek is 'n totale oe verblindery mbt werkskepping vir die plaaslike gemeenskap. Volgens wet moet dit 80% swart en 20% bruin werkers wees. 2. Waar word huisvesting verleen wanneer, van hierdie werkers, bedank of afgedank of net dros. Outomaties gaan 'squat' hulle in die gemeenskap en dis hier waar die probleem begin met verskillende kultuur beginsels. Dis hier waar die diefstal, onrus weens gebrek aan behuising, moord ens begin. 3. Die kus grondpad is nie geskik om die verkeer wat dit gaan meebring te hanteer nie, dit is reeds in so 'n haglike toestand na die huidige reen en vol gate, wat vir die normale pad gebruiker van die verskillende plase 'n baie groot risiko skep mbt voertuig skade ens. 4. Wie gaan vir die onderhoud aan die pad betaal en die skade eise aan voertuie weens die vernietigde pad wat veroorsaak is deur swaer voertuie. 5. WIE GAAN VERANTWOORDELIKHEID AANVAAR VIR DIE VERNIETEGING VAN DIE SEE LEWE WEENS PYPLYDING VANAF DIE PLAAS NA SEE WAT ONGEWENSDE AFVAL SAL STORT. 6. Wie gaan verantwoordelikheid aanvaar vir die daling in kus eiendoms pryse soos aangedui deur die applikant in oorspronklike aansoek. 7. Hoe is dit moontlik dat Hesseqau so onverantwoordlik wil optree om toe te laat dat vleilande wat internasionaal beskerming geniet in hierdie geval vernieitg kan word, is dit die bruin koevert se dikte wat hier die deurslag kan gee. 8. As Hesseqau hierdie goedkeur sal hy maar die gelag moet betaal wanneer die een eis na die ander kom toegedien word mvn al die teenkanting teen hierdie projek/aansoek wat hy nie van kan ontvlug nie.

Against the farm. Full spectrum of wich has been send numerous times to the Munisipality and otheres. Unclear why the Munisipality is still allowing this. Backroom horse-trading with thick brown envelopes filled with cash?

I'm greatly concerned about the negative impact this project will have on this beautiful little town. Principally : Crime, excessive traffic through the centre of town and Kus Road and the noise that will come with it. Dust from the traffic on Kus Road. The erection of squatter camps. Effluent pipeline into the sea ... very concerned about the rubbish being pumped out to sea and affecting marine life. The potential for diseases being generated by intense perlemoen populations in the farming process being spread to the natural perlemoen population in the sea. All this disruption to satisfy the Chinese ?

I agree with you about the changes that would occur in the little town of Gouritsmond. It will be a disgrace to ruin the town by opening it to industrial activities while the infrastructure will not be adequite

The reason we live here is because it's one of the last unspoiled, undeveloped, crime free areas in South Africa. If you don't like it the way it is, please move to a spoiled, developed, crime ridden area of the country.
