I dont understand why Suffolk county or the DEC would expend tax dollars on culling deer when there is a cost free option. Allow local hunters to cull the deer population through longer seasons, more tags, and greater access to public land.

The last thing Suffolk needs is to 'PAy" someone to come in and cull the herd. Secondly, who is to pay for that. I pay taxes and I'm a hunter, but my taxes will pay someone else. We can do it ourselves, donate the venison to feed the hungry. Lastly, if the regulations where " Earn a buck, we automatically would decrease the amount of does, hence, decrease the population. Come on people, common sense.

I agree the more access hunters get the more management we can do and the better we can control the population. Furthermore a longer hunting season would greatly increase chances for people who don't have that much time do to work or family to get out and do there part as wildlife managers and will allow the deer more deer to be harvested.

Why spend money for sharp shooters when u can make money on licenses to us hunters that will gladdly pay to continue an extended season.

Deer and all wild game belong to the citizens, and it is not the provence of the state to usurp by using handpicked government employees in lieu of licensed hunters.
