It's extremely important that pharmacists in Malaysia have at least the dispensing right because as a pharmacists, we have a full degree studying the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of the drugs available c.f. mbbs which only has pharmacology as a small fraction of the degree. Getting pharmacist to do the dispensing serves as an filter to correct any possible error done by the prescribers for the safety of the patients. Even for the compounding rights, we have subjects in our degree for compounding, thus we are relatively more qualified to be responsible for compounding purposes c.f. to other professionals. All in all, I can't find any better reason for other professionals robbing our rights other than PROFITS. This is pretty much going against any health care provider's duty of care in providing 'patient-centred care'. After all, these are all for the welfare and safety of the patients.

Issuing a prescription is a MUST.
Stating indication / diagnosis IS a MUST.
That's what we pay the consultion fees for!!!!!!!
Why do we seek medical consultation if we do not know what medicine we are asked to take and what that medicine is intended for? Consumers need to know more nowadays....unlike 50-60 years ago!!!
