Besides the general idea that is very much questionnable by itself, I do not understand why FIDE should recieve a tremendous 50% + right of veto when the World Champion is taking all the risks.

Thank you for this initiative. Its very important to stick to the current world championship cycle. Right of World championship match must be earned by quality of chess and by winning candidates of course. Its hard to believe some one wants to buy that challenge right with money. Its pathetic idea.

Rich people have enough privileges in the current world. There is absolutely no need to add this one. Not everything should be on sale.

While I believe that the world championship system probably needs modernisation, I don't like the idea of making a challenger's access to funds key to a challenge. We really also need to develop a range of options and debate these before any change. I rather like Jan Timman's suggestion of having the world champion included in the Candidates' tournament (held every two years), with the top two players in that Candidates' event qualifying to play for the title in a match (within say, at most 6-9 months afterwards). But this, too, needs further discussion and should not just simply be 'imposed' by anyone.

Furthermore the FIDE and the ACP should take care that there is the same system form men AND women.

Absurd proposal.

This proposal is utterly absurd. The status quo should remain as it is the fairest and most sensible option.

Insane suggestion! This cant be allowed to pass through.
Im not a titled player, just a hardcore chess fan, loving and living to both watch and play chess.
I can't accept such a ridiculous idea to become real.
You should earn to play the WC for the title by qualifying in fair tournaments, not to BUY the chance to do so.
This suggestion MUST NOT be allowed to happen!!!!!

It is an outrageous plan and would introduce people cheating in the game by buying their way right through up the pedestal. It will introduce challengers buying officials for title. I forsee a scenario whereby someone with good sponsors being pushed to become the world champ without proving his talent to the world. The idea is very bad and takes us a step backwards to a point where the sport is no longer required to be played

Carrying the title of World Champion would become a burden rather than an honour. And over time, the World Champion would no longer necessarily be the best chess player in the world. This is a horrible idea.

As a lifelong chess fan and player (R 2180), I completely appose this idea.
Why not allow chess players to purchase an extra queen before each FIDE rated chess game? The world championship cycle, like the game of chess itself, has a rich history and should not be cheapened for the sake of commercial gain. Allowing any player with adequate funds to bypass this cycle is completely ridiculous.
