RE: Jordan Stewart
ID#: 412905

On November 5, 2011, Joshua Hanna was traveling east bound on a sunny Saturday afternoon to his place of employment to pick up some tools he needed for work on Monday. After driving for 20 minutes, he was struck head on by Jordan Stewart who had crossed the center line. When the police arrived to the scene they found drugs and drug paraphernalia in Stewart's car. Joshua was trapped in his vehicle and responsive for 8 minutes. Once removed, he was medivaced to the hospital and died shortly after arrival.

Stewart was convicted of negligent manslaughter and was sentenced to 5 years in prison. He will have served only 28 months when he is considered for parole.

We, the undersigned, STRONGLY OPPOSE parole for Jordan Stewart. Justice demands he serve the full prison term given to him at his time of sentence.

The response to this petition has demonstrated a clear expectation that sentences must be served in full. I am currently preparing formal documentation for the Maryland Parole Commission to ensure they understand the public sentiment regarding this case.

Josh was a wonderful person and his life was cut extremely short due to the carelessness of Jordan Stewart. It is a true disrespect to Josh's life if Jordan Stewart receives parole in such a short amount of time.

I strongly encourage you not to give him early parole. He made a conscious decision to drugs and drive that day and killed my good friend. He deserves to serve his full sentence.

Josh's family is sentenced to a lifetime sentence without Joshua. Jordan Stewart should serve his sentence of 5 years and not get paroled early. We need to hold people responsible for their actions.

I do not feel safe on the same roads as this man. He was sentenced to five years: let him serve five years.

Although he was a friend of mine many years ago, I firmly believe that he should serve his full sentence.
