So many doctors are practically jobless because what they get from cover jobs or as salary is nothing to write home about. Have you guys tried looking into that at all? To ensure a medical officer gets a minimum of 800 per hour even at the private hospitals. Where do you expect them to bring this money from? You guys shouldn't just be springing things up at last minute. If you had even told pple since the beginning of the year that this is what we are going to pay before another license renewal, we would probably have the money by now. This is totally wrong. I personally feel I am being extorted.

There are better expectations like online printing of annual practising license after payment, regular update of list of registered Doctors, etc. No! to NMA building levy.

NO TO ILLEGAL BUILDING LEVY NMA is now an arm wing of Nigerian pen-robbers. Suggestions to nma (copied) Dr Stephen A: 6 solutions to NMA'S NEED FOR A BUILDING Without Extorting extra Money from Doctors 1) NMA SHOULD use The 70 percent of doctors year Licence fees NMA collects each Year from MDCN of which nothing tangible has been for Doctors with the money collected over the past 20 years 2) SINCE THE NMA LAND IS IN A HIGH PROFILE .ABUJA AREA, MAITAMA, NMA SHOULD THEN RENT/LEASE OUT THE LAND FOR LONG TERM LEASE MAYBE 40 YEARS TO A PRIVATE DEVELOPER WHO WOULD BUILD MULTIPLE FLOORS AND GIVE NMA ONE FLOOR TO USE. AFTER 40 YEARS NMA WOULD GET THEIR BUILDING BACK AND HAVE ALL FLOORS TO THEMSELVES TO COLLECT RENTS FROM ALL FLOORS AND THEN BE SELF FUNDED AND NMA WOULD NOT NEED TO EXTORT AND COLLECT DUES FROM DOCTORS AGAIN 3) SELL THE MAITAMA LAND SINCE THE LAND IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND USE THE LAND MONEY TO BUY A CHEAPER BUILDING SOMEWHERE IN ABUJA. OFFICE NA OFFICE SO FAR UT IS FUNCTIONAL 5) ASK.EFCC CHAIRMAN TO GIVR NMA ONE OF THE MANY AVAILABLE SEIZED ABANDONED PROPERTIES IN ABUJA OR LAGOS TO USE AS NMA BUILDING. 6) NMA SHOULD ASK MEDICAL DOCTORS IN POLITICS TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE BUILDING. DR BUKOLA SARAKI, DR CHRIS NGIGE, DR EMMANUEL UDUAGHAN, DR PETER ODILI Repost and Share....#NMA BUILDING SOLUTION, NO NEED FOR ILLEGAL LEVY

The levy is truly ill advised.

Honestly, it is inhumane and unprofessional to start levying doctors for Secretariat building. NMA account should be audited. They should explain how our accrued monthly levy over the years was used.

No to the new NMA building levy on the members. NMA should be more concerned about our welfare.

This is wrong on so many fronts, it lacks simple human face. It is saddening. NMA no longer represents our interest.

NMA does not need to build a Sky scraper worth billions to outdo other unions. An affordable 5bed duplex property can be bought in Apo and repartitioned into office spaces. Other affiliates can do Thesame. This is more pocket friendly and smart in an unfriendly economy.

The goal of building a befitting NMA Secretariat is great but the manner of approach is very very poor

NMA are so selfish. What have they ever done to improve doctor's welfare. They're just a pain in the ass, extorting young doctors like us that aren't even employed

A nice building is not a priority amidst other issues such as unemployment of medical doctors. Besides a lot of doctors cannot afford 20,000 naira for their personal upkeep talk less of an imposed association building
