Doesn't make customers feel comfortable, similar to the "white coat syndrome".

I honestly do not think wearing this uniform would make any difference to the customer journey. It actually looks like what a dentist would wear and possibly could instill fear in some patients that we are about to extract there eyes!

We had to wear white coats when we were at university many years ago. This is a backward step.

I wear a 3 piece suit, and take pride in this, ill fitting uniforms will not enhance the px journey but retract from it due to our dislike from this uniform. Foolish idea.

I'll only wear this if you give me a Bunsen burner in my room!0
Optometry is a professional career and all optoms I've seen look professional anyway. No need for this this new uniform.

These uniforms do not differentiate us in any way, if anything they simply add to patient confusion. I have never had a patient confused about my role, in fact formal clothes suggest a higher position than a white lab coat. Do doctors wear uniforms? It is also highly inpractical to ask locums to follow to do this as the majority of us work for several companies and are not always able to come back home to pick up uniform. In addition, to demand that we pay for said uniforms is quite simply an outrage. we are not entitled to any company privileges as locums, so why should we have to pay out for this?? I would also like to add that it is also unreasonable for us to be expected to purchase and carry a 'silver frame' to diwplay our goc certificate. I carry my documents with me to each shift and if ever asked i would be able to show this to any patient. So far nobody has ever asked me and surely the fact that we sign all prescriptions with our goc no is enough for them to be able to look us up! The justification for this was to bring us in line with resident staff, but we are not resident staff! These demands are not practical in the slightest, if they do not change i believe that locums will seek work elsewhere.

I have some nice suits + I will have to buy lots of uniform for my block bookings. I don't like wearing a shirt more than once without a wash.

It's not about the cost, it's the principle--- if they want us to wear a uniform they should supply it.
