The charge is misguided and will result in more expenditure than it saves. Fly-tipping clear-ups and recyclable waste going to landfill because garden waste will be deposited in green bins.

we do not use our brown bin as we take our garden waste to the tip-do we still have to pay 30 pounds per year?

Pay council tax so this should be included. Fly tipping will increase because of this charge.

The brown bin was given to us to reduce waste sent to landfill.However,as not all households have a brown bin,there must still be garden refuse being sent to landfill.My council tax is going up-this is supposed to go towards bin collections.If Highland council can't afford this collection any more,then stop it,and we will go back to what we used to do before we were given a bin,and to what obviously many households within the region are still doing.And if you don't have the money-STOP THE ARTWORKS BY THE RIVER ETC!!!!

I don't think this is fair as I use my brown bin maybe twice a year if im lucky, as only have a very small front garden and back garden has stones no grass or plants.

Highway Robbery!!!! Elderly persons who do not have alternative means of disposal of garden rubbish being forced to pay charge.

What's next. Green bin charge, blue bin charge. No street lights? We get very little from this Council for our Council Tax as it is. They always avoid the tough choices.
