Petition Against £30 Charge for Uplifting Brown Bins

I am already paying Council Tax for services such as bin collections. If it goes ahead, this decision will only lead to the increase of `fly tipping` & as a result will cost more for The Highland Council to clean up the mess that will ensue!

3% council tax increase, plus additional rise if band E, now this. How does the council intend to ensure correct collection or non collection of waste depending on payment?

This is a ridiculous charge people are already paying for this service in their council tax. Many will not be able to find this extra amount at all low income families, pensioners etc., it will result in people not doing their gardens as they won't be able to have bins emptied, fly tipping (although personally if you can drive your rubbish to tip it you can drive it to a dump). My 80 year old father can barely afford to eat or hear his house this would cripple him - I am low income so can't help.

This need to be reconsidered. Money is being wasted elsewhere, such as gaelic road signs which benefit no one. Such money needs to be redirected into front line services.

Reduce the councillors per ward and save money that way.

Discriminatory to the less well off and disabled people (like myself) who can't haul garden cuttings to the recycling centre

What are we paying our Council Tax for? Highland Council need to get a grip - it was them that provided householders with the Brown and Blue Bins to promote recycling.

Will just lead to fly tipping a real backward step for while idea of greener recycling movement in the highlands.

only use my bin cause its there but wont be paying 30 for it dont the council make money from compost ?

Absolute damned disgrace, old people who worked really hard for there money long ago and some who fought for our country who enjoy a bit of gardening are being penalised yet again, too much people in high up jobs implemting charges but they certainly don't take any cuts. The country is being run by people out to line there own pockets too much spent on there expenses and added extras, anyway all these bins were implemented by the government to cut down on green house gases and clean up our communities to alleviate fly tipping what happens now back to square one another couple of years the brown bins will be reintroduced, there is no hope it is a case of idiots running the country!!!

I will definitely be returning my bin Residents who return their bins or refuse to pay £30 will put their garden rubbish in any bin that is put out, and I certainly am not prepared to subsides that. This will lead to more fly tipping in the area. Wait until the councillors are looking for re-election in the May elections

Miserly and will encourage fly tipping.
