If this is implemented, I will definitely be returning the bin. Once again proof that we have a totally out of touch unthinking council.

Unfair. This charge is included in the Council Tax.

This charge is a disgrace and the council should be ashamed of themselves.

Let us a residents not get railroaded into paying this ridiculous fee for emptying bins when we are already paying high community tax charges...Let us all say NO to this.

I feel there is going to be a lot of fly tipping going on which will damage the highlands countryside for visitors and residents alike. Highland council need a rethink on this issue. What next will happen, is that they will think they can charge for emptying recycling bins!

We already pay for (all) bin collections!

Ill-thought out and potentially damaging to the environment. I'd be interested to know if the Council have a plan (and funds) in place to deal with the fly tipping which will inevitably ensue once the brown bin charge is introduced.

Don't some of us pay well over enough in council tax as it is without being charged more as the soon to come brown bin emptying at £30 a bin. What if you require 3 bins..£90 charge then ridiculous!!

The 3% increase of the council tax should cover this service. It's another easy way to get extra money out of local people.

This is a sneaky dodge to get round the council tax cap. What about a pay drop for councillor sack the chief exec get deputy to go his job for same salary he has now . Then trim all the civil service dead wood from the council that would do it . Or fund librysries by crowd finding and only partially by council

i completely disagree with this decision from the highland council to charge 30,00 pound for 6 months (they dont collect in the winter!)

Council tax has already gone up. This is a tax against the elderly who do not have a car to take garden rubbish to the dump.

Bin emptying is one of the very few services I get from the council, my council tax has gone up and now I have to pay even more.

this will obviously encourage more fly tipping. Somebody will have to be employed to check if bin has been paid for - more expense

If this goes ahead there will be more fly tipping and the cost for clearing up will be huge. Makes no green sense.

As many people have said this service is one of the reasons we pay our council tax which will increase significantly this year. I have read the councils justification which seems to suggest that this is an additional service that they were giving us and we should be grateful for this. People will put green waste in the green bin which will go to landfill. When green bins are full, people will flytip. Please reconsider this decision.

Refuse to pay for uplift of brown bins as this charge is already being made due to increase of 3% on coucil tax. This service is part of what we pay our council tax for.when green waste goes into green bin how much extra is this going to cost on land fill ? If council wants to save money put lorries on 15hour day and refuse operatives working 2×7:5 hr shift per day and that would allow less lorries to be leased. As it stands just now lorries and men are only working average 5/6 hrs a day. What a saving that would make!!!
